Hello and welcome to 3Sixty
On this page we’ve tried to answer all the questions you might like to ask about us. But if there’s anything we’ve left out, or is not clear, please feel free to give us a ring (the number’s +44 117 90 77 360) and we’ll be more than happy to fill in the gaps. In these days of electronic communication, it’s actually quite nice to get an old-fashioned ‘phone call every now and again!
First off, what do we do?
We call ourselves a full service digital marketing agency. Clients come to us because they realise that effective online marketing isn’t just about having a beautifully designed website. It's about having a deep understanding of the web and using that knowledge and experience to deliver measurable results.
We were pretty flattered to be voted the 3rd Most Respected Creative company in the South West of England in a 2009 survey of our peers conducted by Bristol Media (Aardman Animations came first, so we were in good company!)

What’s the history of the agency?
Chris Thurling founded 3Sixty back in 1995 and Jon Waring joined as the Creative Director in 2000. We own the business 50/50 so we are 100% independent. We’re based in Bristol, near the University. We’ve got about 2000 sq feet of space spread over two floors. It’s a very nice place to work and clients seem to enjoy coming here...or maybe they just like going shopping afterwards?
What’s the size of the business?
We’re a core team of 17 people (planners, account handlers, designers, information architects and developers), plus an extensive and painstakingly assembled network of partners and associates.
Is there a typical 3Sixty client?
Quite often people take one look at our client list and ask us if we only work with large companies like ITV and Bristol International Airport. The answer is emphatically no. We work with a range of clients large and small.
What kind of work do we do?
Basically our work falls in to four categories:
- Full service – for clients like Bristol International Airport, Bibby and Zuken we not only designed and built their websites, we also provide a full range of digital marketing services and are constantly working on improving and enhancing the websites.
- One off websites – we occasionally get commissioned by companies like Moo and Xype that want a highly professional looking website (often with a CMS) and that’s that. We like these kind of projects every now and again.
- Design only - some clients like ITV and MoneyWeek have got the technical side of things already taken care of. So they come to us for our information architecture and design expertise.
- Digital marketing – we don’t have to look after the main website in order to offer digital marketing advice and services to our clients. We can offer a range of consultancy services and also come up with online campaigns that don’t have to involve any changes to the main corporate site (e.g. campaign microsites). We've worked with the likes of Dell and Fujitsu on projects like this in the past.
Do we develop content managed websites and intranets?
Yes! Over the years we've developed lots. Since 2005 we've built most our sites using a fantastic content management system (CMS) called Sitecore.
Do we specialise in any sectors?
We’ve got particular expertise working with airports and in the travel and B2B sectors. That said, the team at 3Sixty has worked across a huge range of clients over the years so there isn’t an area we’d rule out (apart from selling guns and ciggies!) We think that our expertise can apply to any sector.
What really counts is: do we offer the services you are looking for, are we the right size of agency and, most importantly, are we all excited about working together?
What’s it like to work with 3Sixty?
Bit of difficult one for us to answer, but we’d be happy for you to talk to any of our clients. Just drop us a line and we’ll put you in touch.
What professional bodies do we belong to?
We’ve been members of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) since 2005. In 2006 we won an award from the IPA for our staff training programmes.
Here are 10 good reasons why clients should only employ an IPA agency...
We are also members of the Account Planning Group.
Do the directors work with clients?
One of the frustrations of working with big agencies can be that the senior team does the selling, and once the client signs up, they never see these agency superstars again.
We don't work like that. We take an active and daily interest in all our accounts, we make an effort to see our clients face to face as often as possible and we encourage our clients to give us a call if they ever have any problems or concerns.
We hope that we’ve covered everything. Thank you for visiting,
Chris Thurling – Managing Director
Jon Waring – Creative Director
