35,000 hours of classic British TV goes online
Sometime back in 2006 we picked up our third major commission from ITV: the design for an enormous online library of more than 35,000 hours programming for Granada International, one of Europe's leading commercial television distributors. The new site gives access to this vast back catalogue of classic British programming for TV buyers in over 200 countries worldwide and is now live at http://www.int.granadamedia.com/
Having won our spurs at ITV designing the company's new intranet at the beginning of last year, ITV felt that 3Sixty's combination of creative flair coupled with technical know-how made us the obvious choice to help them with this major project.
Our biggest challenge was information architecture; in other words organising this huge and highly diverse collection of programmes in such a way that potential customers would be able to locate precisely what they wanted, in the shortest time possible.
At the same time, we needed to ensure that visually — as well as in terms of user-experience — the site would accurately reflect the elegantly contemporary look and feel of the Granada brand identity.
The new site has been up and running for a few weeks and so far the feedback has been very positive. We'd be interested to hear what you think.
