It is a widely quoted truism that customers are more likely to get divorced than move their current account and several recent reports back this up. However new start-ups and technologies are emerging which may force banks to innovate if they are to retain their dominant position.
I finally got round to choosing which funds to invest in through my 2010 ISA this week. An ISA is essentially a wrapper which means you can put stocks, shares and cash in it, up to a certain limit and shelter your investments from tax. The government set this up to encourage people to save more and you can get an ISA either directly from a provider or via an independent financial advisor.
The growing popularity of smart phones and tablet computers with touch screen interfaces has got me thinking about how banks are reacting to this new platform and expanding their approach to internet banking.
